Als je zoals ik een beetje schoenen liefhebber bent, bestaat er een grote kans dat je de Nike Air force 1 al kent. De Air Force 1 gaat nu al 35 mee, en Nike viert het 35 jarig jubileum met een aantal speciale Air Force 1 modellen, ontworpen door moderne iconen, zogenaamde collaborators.
Als zal je waarschijnlijk nog niet vinden in de Nike Sale, is het toch wel altijd leuk om te kijken waar de Nike mee bezig is.

35 Jaar Air Force 1

The Nike Air Force is voor het eerst in 1982 uitgebracht, en dan stopgezet, en dan opnieuw gelanceerd in 1986. Sindsdien is het wel een kenmerkend product in he Nike catalogus.
De afgelopen 35 jaar heeft Nike een winnend recept gehad voor de Nike Air Force 1.

Naast het feit dat de Air Force in verschillende colorways verkrijgbaar is, heb je ook altijd verschillende pass-vormen gehad binnen de Air Force familie.
De Nike Air Force is onder te verdelen in de low, mid en hi.

De Air Force 1 low-top is de laagste versie is een klassieke sneaker silhouet. De mid-tops zijn wat hoger en hebben een bandje over de lip. De hi’s hebben een bredere band, die over de gehele lengte plakt door klittenband, ze zijn natuurlijk ook hoger dan de andere twee.
Er is genoeg diversiteit in de Air Force 1 family, het verklaart ook waarom het zo lang  mee gaat.

Air Force White-White

Van alle Air Force 1’s (en zijn het er veel geweest) is de witte Air Force toch het meest iconische van allemaal. Met een witte leren Upper en een witte zool. White-white is dus de officiële colorway van de witte Air Force 1. Clean, simpel en gelukkig voor Nike en Air Force fans, tijdloos.


Colaborations

Voor het jubileum heeft Nike met verschillende moderne iconen samengewerkt om de white-white colorway te vieren. In de Nike catalogus is er geen schoen die sport, muziek, mode,  kunst en de citylife  zo goed samenbrengt als de Air Force  1 white-white.

Als uitgangspunt voor de keuze van collaborators heeft Nike gezocht naar de moderne iconen die toekomstige generaties zullen beïnvloeden. De collaborators  zijn actief in verschillende bereiken en vakken. Een mix van ontwerpers, rappers, producenten en meer.

Het ontwerp moest herkenbaar blijven als de klassieke air force en verbinden met hun visie en talenten.

Mode ontwerper Errolson Hugh heeft de schoen benaderd hoe hij zijn kledingstukken zou benaderen, hij heeft gezocht naar een probleem, of een nieuwe aspect van functionaliteit en heeft gekeken of  er een manier was om deze te verbeteren.

 

Air Force 1 ’07 Off-White™ by Virgil Abloh

De off-white Air Force 1, is onveranderd als schoen met een zilveren swoosh als throwback naar de begin jaren van de Air Force 1. Daaronder, is er een ‘merkmaal’ of druk van waar de schoen is geproduceerd.

 

Air Force 1 Low Travis Scott by Travis Scott

De schoen ontworpen door rapper en pop-icoon Travis Scott blijft trouw aan de standard Air Force silhouet. Hij beschrijft zichzelf als de “acid” van de rap-wereld, en dat brengt hij terug in zijn ontwerp.
De schoen heeft een silveren swoosh, met daar nog een silveren swoosh bovenop.
